Eine Headspace-Probengefäß dient zur Bildung einer Headspace-Probe innerhalb des Gefäßes. Durch das Einbringen der Probe in das Probengefäß diffundiert die Probe zu Gas. Die Gasphase sammelt sich unterhalb des verschlossenen Deckels, bis ein Gleichgewicht zwischen der Gasphase und der restlichen Probenphase erreicht ist.
